1. Does IEEE collect any personal information about me?
IEEE does not require anyone to share any personal information about themselves in order to view the RealWorldEngineering.org website. That means you can visit the RealWorldEngineering.org website without any need to register with us. We do not collect any personal information from you unless you register for the Call for Projects/Workshops, downloads, or completing our online surveys. The personal information we ask for is usually first and last name, title, e-mail address, University website and organization.
As with standard website servers, we will record information about your visit automatically in the server log files. We will collect the browser type and Internet Protocol (IP) address, date, time and length of your visit, the pages visited and downloads that you performed. This information is gathered to analyze the number of visitors to the site, and to help us make improvements. We will not link this information to any personally identifiable information about you.
If you use our Contact Us form, you can choose to give us your e-mail address if you wish for us to reply to you. After we reply, we will delete your e-mail address from our files within a reasonable time.

We use the personal information we collect for the purposes indicated at the time you provide such information. For instance, if you register for the Call for Projects/Workshops, we will use the registration information to notify authors, or respond to any questions or comments. Occasionally, and only with consent at the time we ask for information, we might also e-mail or mail you to provide information on upcoming IEEE RWEP events, website updates and promotions. Our e-mails and mailings will include information on how you can ask not to receive such information in the future.
