Dr. Tomas Ward

Dr. Ward received the B.E. (Electronic), M.Eng.Sc. (Biomedical Engineering) and Ph.D (Biomedical Engineering) degrees from University College, Dublin, Ireland in 1994, 1996 and 1999 respectively. In 1999 he was appointed Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Ireland (NUI), Maynooth. In 2000 he was appointed Lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering at NUI Maynooth where he is now Senior Lecturer. His current primary research areas include the application of brain computer interfaces for neurorehabilitation particularly in stroke, closed loop communication protocols for distributed interactive applications and virtual environments for cognitive and physical rehabilitation.
